Children/adolescents + couples + family therapy, Trauma and abuse, Depression and Anxiety, Spiritual issues/concerns

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 18 years of experience working with children, adolescents, couples, and families mainly involved with the Department of Children and Family Services and the Department of Probation.  As you can imagine the cases tended to be severe, but I wanted to work where the need was and I thrived on the challenges (as they sharpened me as a therapist).  Having been a client myself for many years helps me appreciate what it’s like for you to take the first step.  I believe my strength is my ability to establish a therapeutic alliance with clients; as the quality of the alliance is commonly acknowledged by researchers as the most robust predictor of treatment success.

I take more of a motivational interviewing approach when working with clients where you are the expert on your life and also use an intersubjective approach where the therapeutic relationship is the platform where work and healing take place.  Additionally, I utilize a psychodynamic perspective in addressing root issues.  I graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.  I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Art Center College of Design, with a major in Advertising.  Yes, it was a huge jump for me to go from art to psychology, but advertising at its core is about becoming a student of human nature.  I enjoy watching movies where relationships develop in surprising and unexpected ways.

Young Adults, Adults, Couples, Family, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Trauma

I'm a Psychologist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and substance abuse. I have provided therapy in various settings: public mental health, family agencies, hospitals, school systems, and in private practice. I was given many opportunities to work with a wide range of severity of problems and challenges. These experiences provided me with ways to relate to my clients, regardless of circumstance or background, in a way where they can be heard and understood and provided a treatment that is meaningful to them.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles where I have had many ups and downs in my life. I certainly understand what it is like to have to deal with challenges without support, which is why I would like to support others in their most trying moments. Therapy can be a beautiful process where you get to not only understand yourself better but also understand your relationships and the world around you better.

I have had a lot of experience working with young adults, although I have worked with all age ranges, as well as couples and families. I operate from a strength-based stance that explores solutions developed from our collaboration and from strengths you may have overlooked. Depending on what would be the most helpful to you, my approach will be tailored to your needs. Individually, we may stay more present-focused, or examine past history contingent upon your needs. I hope to be of assistance for your next journey in therapy.

I received my BA from UC Santa Cruz, my MA/MFT from Pepperdine University, and my PsyD from Alliant International University’s California School of Professional Psychology.

*Not Accepting New Clients

Hello, I'm Christine and I'm so glad you're here!

I am a licensed psychotherapist and have been practicing therapy for close to a decade. I love doing therapy because it works! When you share deep inner struggles, thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe therapeutic space, healing and growth happen. I've seen this time after time in my own practice.

I specialize in helping individuals who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and high-achieving working professionals and entrepreneurs. If you are one of them, you often also struggle with intense anxiety around performance, are highly critical of yourself, and have difficulty with work and life balance. I can help you cultivate a healthier relationship with yourself and your work, resulting in greater happiness, self-compassion and inner peace.

I also specialize in working with couples who feel distant and disconnected, struggling with emotional disconnect, communication issues, and life transitions. If you feel stuck in a cycle of interaction with your significant other that leaves you feeling distant, unsatisfied and unhappy, you don't have to stay there. Working from an attachment standpoint, I can help you identify the root cause of your unhealthy relational patterns and help you feel closer and connected with your significant other.

Aside from being a psychotherapist, I am a wife and mother of three beautiful boys. In my personal time, I love to read on my Kindle and play with my boys at the park.
