THERAPIST | AMFT #136152

Hello! My name is Dr. Alisa Adame, PsyD,

I am a dedicated associate marriage and family therapist with a strong passion for helping others navigate life's challenges through a compassionate, client-centered approach. My career in mental health began as a Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) coach, where I supported children and families in addressing targeted behavioral concerns within home and community settings. From there, I expanded my work to serve a more acute and complex population during my time with San Bernardino County, gaining valuable experience working with individuals across the lifespan and from a wide range of cultural, socioeconomic, and diagnostic backgrounds.

After my work in county mental health, I transitioned into private practice, where I provided therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families. In this setting, I worked extensively via telehealth, offering accessible and flexible care while maintaining strong therapeutic connections in a virtual environment. This experience strengthened my ability to adapt interventions effectively, engage clients remotely, and support continuity of care across a variety of clinical presentations.

In recent years, my clinical focus has centered on working with children and families, a population I find deeply meaningful and rewarding. I have experience treating a broad range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, attachment-related issues, and family system disruptions. My clinical work is grounded in cultural humility and a deep respect for diversity, with an emphasis on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and heard.

I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and earned my Doctorate in Marital and Family Therapy. My doctoral research explored the intersection between relationship satisfaction and attachment styles, which continues to inform my work with individuals and family systems. In addition to my clinical practice, I have taught at the master's level within Marriage and Family Therapy programs, reflecting my commitment to education, mentorship, and the advancement of the field.

In my therapeutic work, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches and tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of each client or family. I integrate modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Bowen Family Systems Theory. My integrative style allows for flexibility and personalization while honoring each client's goals, strengths, and values.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and remain passionate about contributing to the mental health field through both clinical practice and education. I believe in meeting clients where they are, offering warmth, empathy, and practical guidance to support healing, growth, and meaningful change."
