Hi! I'm Jeffrey Ko.
Hello! I am an associate clinical social worker and I have been working in the mental health field for the past 12 years in settings including schools, homes, and the community. Throughout these experiences I have learned so much from my colleagues in the mental health field, but importantly, from the families and individuals themselves. My therapy practice is centered on an openness to understand others, a wealth of knowledge and skills to share, and building a healthy therapeutic relationship to support growth and understanding. I cater my practice to each individual’s needs which can range from practical goal attainment or understanding oneself on a deeper level.
My professional experiences involve working with individuals and families of all socioeconomic, age, and cultural backgrounds. Specifically, I have significant experiences supporting those who have experienced trauma in addition to various needs such as anxiety, depression, anger, relationships conflicts, and more. I have my own experiences with mental health needs and believe in the universality of struggles and the ability to overcome.
Therapeutic modalities that inform my practice include: cognitive behavioral, trauma-informed cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, mindfulness, client-led, strengths based, culturally responsive, and psychodynamic. I received my Masters of Social Work from Portland State University in 2017. During my free time I enjoy nature, cooking, music, various forms of media, working out, yoga, and spending time with my loved ones.
