THERAPIST | AMFT #130541

Hello,

My name is Ernesto, and I am an associate clinician (AMFT). I began working in the mental health field in 2017, providing psychiatric and therapeutic interpretation and translation for a community mental health agency. Since then, I have continued to grow professionally through a variety of clinical roles and have been providing direct psychotherapy services since 2021.

As a clinician, I collaborate with adolescents, adults, and families to improve their mental and behavioral health. My clinical experience includes helping clients reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, manage ADHD, decrease the frequency and intensity of panic attacks, reduce substance use and risk, address oppositional behaviors, and decrease post-traumatic stress symptoms.

Many mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, or trauma-related symptoms, are not simply problems to eliminate—they often reflect underlying experiences that deserve understanding and attention. Clients experiencing anxiety may benefit from learning to regulate their nervous system, identify and remove barriers that allow the use of healthy coping strategies, and challenge intrusive or unhelpful thoughts about themselves and the world. Individuals struggling with depression, low motivation, persistent sadness, or negative self-perceptions may discover that unresolved trauma, relationship stress, or emotional neglect has contributed to these experiences.

There are many reasons why people experience emotional distress and behavioral health challenges. We will work towards identifying root causes contributing to your symptoms, provide a therapeutic effect, and develop tools to aid in the reduction of their intensity and frequency. My goal is to help you build lasting skills, provide a therapeutic effect, and create sustainable change.

I provide telehealth services for adolescents, adults, and families seeking to improve their relationships with themselves and each other. If I believe your needs would be better served by another provider or specialty, I will be transparent and help guide you toward appropriate resources.

Mental health treatment cannot create a blank slate. What it can offer is an opportunity to better understand yourself, develop new ways of responding to life's challenges, and build a greater capacity for change, resilience, and acceptance.
