Hi, I'm Jan!
I have been a therapist for 40 years and I love my work as much now as when I started. It is an honor and privilege for me to share in the lives and growth of others. I came to therapy myself as a teen and young adult to resolve childhood traumas and to find joy in my adult life. Therapy is hard work with amazing possibilities for growth and change. Your life can be joyful and successful. You can meet your goals.
My therapy style is innovative and eclectic. I blend many positive and strength based therapies to meet each client's specific needs. You will experience unconditional acceptance and positive focused sessions designed to help you understand your past and re-imagine your present and future. My goal is to help you find the beauty and gifts inside you.
My experience is wide and extensive, including all forms of abuse and trauma, depression and anxiety, marital and family issues, developmental delays including autism, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities and school problems, the emotional aspects of all disabilities, family and marital problems, parenting issues, Alzheimer's/dementia, loss and grief.
I trained with Elizabeth Kubler Ross, a Swiss psychiatrist who brought the Hospice movement to the United States. I have worked with all ages and many cultures. I received my Masters Degree from USC School of Social Work. My undergraduate studies in Psychology were completed at Immaculate Heart College in Hollywood. In my spare time I enjoy being with my family, friends and our four-legged grand-kids, twin Cocker Spaniel pups. I enjoy needlepoint and other crafts, entertaining and antiquing. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
