LAZARUS LYNCH, ASW
THERAPIST | ASW #125930
Hi, I'm Laz! (he/him/his, MSW, ACSW)
I'm a therapist, multicreative, and social justice worker. I hold a master’s in social work from Columbia University in the City of New York, and my practice is grounded in cultural competence, emotional attunement, anti-racism, and a deep respect for your lived experience.
I practice radicalized therapy. To me, that means we are not broken. It means naming what often gets ignored: that our wounds don't form in a vacuum. We are shaped by systems, institutions, and histories that teach us to produce our way to worthiness and wholeness. In therapy, we get to slow down, unmask, get off autopilot, and restore ourselves from a place of wholeness.
My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centered, relational, and psychodynamic traditions alongside liberation psychology and healing justice frameworks. In plain terms: you are the expert on your own life, bringing a wealth of knowledge, agency, and insight into therapy. Together, we get curious about the roots of the patterns keeping you stuck. We decode the stories you hold and tell, understand their meaning, and expand our empathy. We examine the survival strategies that once protected you but may now confine you. We work collaboratively to gently untie the knots that hold you back. We heal unhurried. I hold that healing is not just personal but collective - that when we free ourselves from cycles of harm, we interrupt what gets passed down and passed around. Rest is part of the work. Softness is part of the work. You do not have to earn your care here.
I believe our deepest pains can be transformed into a more integrated and liberated self. I bring optimism, warmth, courageous empathy, and an open mind to therapy. I specialize in working with content creators, musicians, chefs, and digital entrepreneurs. Special welcome to BIOPC and LGBTQIA+ folx, and people of intersectional identities, as well as trauma survivors. My background in entertainment gives me a lived understanding of the pressures, visibility challenges, and creative blocks that come with a public or artistic life. I look forward to working with you!
