MEGAN MADDOX, ASW
THERAPIST | ASW #109715
Hi, I’m Megan.
I am passionate about working with individuals, couples and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I have had the opportunity of working with many different populations to include adolescents, geriatrics, veterans, homeless, and forensics. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, substance use and Psychotic disorders. I will strive to provide support and empower my clients as they navigate through their growth journey toward a life they would like to lead.
I specialize in evidence based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Grief, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Gottman Method. My attention through my experience has been trauma focused and I truly believe that in utilizing psychoeducation and trauma focused interventions clients are able to unload and identify past experiences that are presently affecting them. By changing the way we understand and look at our trauma we allow for healing to occur and for avoidance to be addressed. The goal is understanding, healing and growth.
I ensure fostering a safe and comfortable space for my clients by being open minded, nonjudgmental, empathetic, understanding and compassionate. I will encourage you to be your authentic self, and support you through the difficulties you are facing. I am truly honored and humbled to be welcomed into your life and to work alongside you to not only attain your goals but to go further toward a meaningful life.
