YVETTE TOMAN, ASW #78074
Therapist

Yvette Toman ASW

Hi! I'm Yvette.

I am honored that you have chosen to learn more about me as a therapist and open yourself to self-exploration and positive change that therapy can bring into your life.

Sharing the details of your personal life can be scary. You want to make sure that you can trust the person who you are opening up to. I hope to earn that trust over time through our
conversations together, but to also ensure to you, that I am experienced, competent, and capable to be your guide through this process of understanding more about yourself.

In my 10 years of experience providing therapy in the mental health, speech and behavioral fields I have worked with adults, LGBTQ of all ages, children and children with disabilities. I have
extensive experience working with individuals, families and groups. I strive to be there for you regardless of your faith, identity or background.

My unique perspective stems from my background as a Venezuelan-born American female trying to pursue educational and life goals later on in life. I had a dream to pursue higher education and find a life partner but I had learning difficulties, financial problems, and low self-
esteem. I turned to spirituality, books, therapy, self-care and art as a way of overcoming these frustrating challenges that I found myself in well into my thirties. My knowledge in dating,
relationships, self-care and the utilization of art-therapy is now the foundation of my therapy practice.

I believe in letting you “lead.” I am here to listen to you - your thoughts and fears, your hopes and dreams. My goal is to help you overcome your fears and negative thoughts in order to achieve your life’s purpose. Whether your purpose is to be the best version of yourself or want to achieve great things, I want to help you explore what those things are and how to
accomplish them. You can do it! You are enough. You are more than enough.

These types of therapies I am describing are client centered and strength based approaches. I combine Cognitive-behavioral therapy with psychodynamics to explore and treat anxiety and depression. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders and a Master’s Degree in
Social Work from the California State University, Los Angeles. I am licensed with the state of California as an Associate Social Worker.
