Hello I am Benyapa
Thank you for taking time to visit this page and consider counseling. I am a therapist dedicated to providing support through a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens. My experience includes work with both youth and adults navigating trauma/abuse, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. I work with individuals of varying backgrounds/experiences, and strive to ground our collaborative work in empowerment, creativity, and authentic expression.
I specialize in supporting individuals who experience, or have experienced, various forms of abuse. My work utilizes psychoeducation, art, music, and mindful movement to weave together your multifaceted story. Through your narrative we explore how larger structures of family/friends, community, and societal systems impact your overall well-being. Our work together, influenced by multiple modalities including TF-CBT, somatic therapy, and IFS, remains grounded in honoring your pace and uplifting your many strengths.
I draw from my personal experiences as a biracial woman raised in northern Thailand and Southern California, my mentorship at Occidental College ‘15 and UCLA ‘19, and many years of professional experience in educational and mental health systems, to stand alongside you to explore challenges and uncover parts of yourself that deserve to be safe, seen, and heard.
