Hi, I'm Alex!

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves,” -Viktor Frankl.

I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from the Oakwood School in North Hollywood, I went on to receive my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Skidmore College in New York. Soon after, I received a Master of Social Work from Columbia University, with a specialization in clinical practice. As the granddaughter of two Holocaust Survivors, I have always had a passion for helping others create a life worth meaning, especially considering the impact of trauma on the lives of individuals and their families. When individuals face situations outside their control, they may feel stuck and unsure of how to adapt to these circumstances. As a therapist, I am committed to guiding you towards finding meaning in that situation. Together, we can find what you can learn from it, and discover new ways to carry you through.

My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, client-centered, and strengths-based, where the individual’s self-determination and strengths are highly emphasized. I incorporate a variety of  therapeutic interventions based on your personal needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am highly motivated to meet you where you are at and build a strong therapeutic relationship together.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and partner, going to the beach, swimming, reading, and having little adventures. I am creative and enthusiastic, qualities I love to use and bring into my work as a therapist. I believe that people can be resourceful and resilient, even among adverse conditions. I am committed to providing a safe therapeutic space, one that is full of compassion and an open mind. I am looking forward to working with you!
