Telma Armendariz

Hi, I'm Telma.

Through my continued immersion in experiential approaches, I have been able to expand my therapeutic philosophies and interventions for the purpose of encouraging the connection with the source of our capacity for nourishment and self-compassion in order to allow access to wellness, pleasure, and healthy human connection.

In addition to offering a safe and caring space to explore, I place great emphasis on opening up the way towards creating a solid sense of self and safety in the body. My clinical interests are directed towards the resolution of trauma via mind and body connection, self-compassion, empowerment, sex and intimacy/relational healing, and embodiment practices.

My therapeutic approaches display a combination of Biopsychology and Holistic interventions, as I truly believe in our potential to tap into an aligned and rich human experience through psychodynamic, existential, experiential, and most importantly, cognitive and sensory awakening practices. I am dedicated to supporting my clients in learning to steadily develop an ability to connect and tap into their truest selves for the purpose of shedding any conditioning or acquired maladaptive coping mechanisms preventing them from achieving their full potential.

My training on somatosensory experiencing has allowed me to further develop my interventions by placing an emphasis on the nourishment of the nervous system for the purpose of the release of trauma. These, along with elements of Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Zen Buddhist Psychology, Depth psychology, Meditation and Visualization, shape the style and atmosphere of my therapeutic sessions.
